Last updated: September 20, 2026
Agreement
By downloading or using Ember: Focus & App Blocker (formerly Focus Shield) you agree to these terms and to Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
Using the app
- The app is for your personal, non-commercial use.
- You need an iPhone running iOS 18.0 or later.
- You choose which apps, categories and websites to block, and you are responsible for those choices.
- Blocking relies on Apple’s Screen Time technology and the permission you give in iOS.
- Face ID or your device passcode may be used to confirm sensitive actions, such as changing your blocked apps or settings.
Subscriptions
Ember offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions called Ember Pro, with monthly and yearly plans. Pricing varies by region and is shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- The monthly plan may include a 3-day free trial. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you subscribe.
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
What the app can’t do
Ember is a self-control tool. It helps you reduce distractions, but it is not a guarantee, and it is not a security or parental-control product. Features such as Locked Mode add friction to help you stay on track. You remain in control of your device.
Content and ownership
The app, its design, and the Ember character and artwork belong to dlapps. You may not copy, sell or reuse them without permission.
Liability
The app is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, dlapps is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app.
Changes
We may update these terms and the app from time to time. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
